Thanks Al for the heads up about the meeting regarding the wireless equipment installation. I will definitely be there to learn more and to raise my concerns. It is not clear to me what "wireless equipment" means. I live only a few blocks from Fremont and 37th.

Is this a cell phone tower?  If so I have started my preliminary research on the effects of living close to cell phone towers and I am not at all reassured. My preliminary research turned up evidence that leukemia, miscarriage, vibra-acoustic effect and more could be related to cell phone towers. I will spend a few hours on this before the meeting, post what I find on this listserv and bring copies and questions for the presenters to the meeting.

If anyone comes up with any more information on this meeting, including the specifics of the proposed installation, would you please post to this list.

Here is one snippet of what I found today:
Two Australian studies were carried out to assure the public that both cell phones and cell sites were safe. Both of these studies, Hocking et al. (1996) and Repacholi et al. (1997), showed that leukaemia/lymphoma was more than doubled for people and mice.[June 2000] Health effects associated with mobile base stations in communities: the need for health studies : Dr. Neil Cherry

Thanks,
Anne Trudeau
